京都で活躍するデザイナーの三重野龍氏がデザイン、VOUがディレクションした五条ゲストハウスオリジナルの手ぬぐい。

【てぬぐいの特徴】
屋号の頭文字「ご」がグラフィカルに表現されたデザインは、当館の縦に長い京町家的”うなぎの寝床”な建築スタイルから着想を得ています。1月1日に販売開始したので、書き初め的な意味合いもあり◎

手ぬぐいは濡れてもすぐに乾き、小さく畳めて、軽い。まさに旅にぴったりのアイテムです。ローカルな銭湯のお供に、夏のタオル代わりに、または買ったものを包む際にも重宝します。自宅で手を拭くタオルとしての使い方もおすすめです。

*手ぬぐいは濡れてもすぐに乾き、雑菌がたまりにくいという利点から、端が切りっぱなしになっています。使い始めてしばらくすると、端の方から糸がほつれてきます。その場合は、ハサミで長く出た糸を切り落として下さい。使ううちにほつれは出なくなります。

[Original "Go" Tenugui]
"Tenugui" are a type of traditional Japanese towel made of cotton. It's thin, light, and dries easily.


[Product Description]
The Tenugui is designed and produced by an amazing Shop & Gallery "VOU" in our neighbor. They found our atmosphere is like "visiting old, learn new" and they expressed that by Japanese Hiragana character "ご" (Go) with graphical handwriting calligraphy of lines and circles.

This long black lines remind our classic Japanese house because it is long and narrow. We call this style "bed of eels" and it's a typical style in traditional Machiya houses in Kyoto.

We will be very happy if our towel can travel with you!


[Fabric & Care]
- 100% cotton
- Size: approximately 88cm x 34cm

- Both ends of the Tenugui are drip-dry. Because the end isn't stitched, it dries quickly, it's hygienic and doesn't accumulate dirt and dust. In addition, because it doesn't have any stitching, when used tightly and drained off, it's convenient and easy to handle.

A new hand towel becomes frayed at both ends at first, but settles down as you wash it several times, and it stops naturally about 1cm from the end. When it gets frayed through washing, please use scissors to cut the long threads that stick out.
